Dropbox beat Wall Street’s expectations for its first quarter as a public company, another sign of momentum after one of 2018’s marquee IPOs.
The file-storage company said it had collected about $316 million in revenue in the most recent quarter, a 28 percent rise over last year.

Prior to founding Rembrandt in 2004, Jerry served as Chairman of the board of directors of IKOS Systems, Inc. and served as its CEO from 1989 to 1995 taking the company public in 1991. Jerry was a founding member and General Partner of Trinity Ventures; a highly successful venture capital firm focused on investments in early stage high technology companies. Before founding Trinity, Jerry was a founder and General Partner of Genesis Capital.Jerry also founded Millennium Systems, a manufacturer of microprocessor development systems, and served as its President and CEO. He guided the company to a successful acquisition by American Micro Systems. Jerry is also a founding member of the Band of Angels, an organization that actively invests in early stage companies. The Band constitutes over 160 members comprised of Silicon Valley-based technology executives.
Jerry is currently a member of the World Presidents Organization (WPO) and a former member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). Jerry has served on the boards of directors of over 20 companies, both public and private, including NASDAQ companies Evans & Sutherland, Cepheid Systems, Ikos Systems, Identix Corporation and Keynote Systems. Currently, Jerry sits on the boards of enSilo, InsideView, Xactly (XTLY), and Lotlinx.
Jerry holds a bachelor of science in electrical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
Scott has invested in and served on the board of multiple companies that have had successful IPOs or been acquired by leading technology companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, Citrix, Telstra, Dropbox and Twitter. He focuses primarily on software and infrastructure investments.
Scott is currently a board member and/or investor in Autopilot, Avaamo, Dynamic Signal, Lotlinx, Lytics, MaritzCX, PandaDoc and Pipedrive. He also serves as Chairman of the SF Bay Area Children's Business Fair.
Prior to joining Rembrandt Venture Partners, Scott was a General Partner at El Dorado Ventures for ten years. Scott’s early career experience was with Accenture and Morgan Stanley.
Scott received a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, with high distinction, and an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, where he was a Venture Fellow and Welsh Scholar.
Douglas has an extensive transactional experience and operational expertise from starting and running software companies to heading up Corporate Development and M&A for what was the largest employee owned technology company in the world (SAIC).
Prior to joining Rembrandt Venture Partners, Doug was a Senior Partner at Argo Global Capital in Boston from 2001 to late 2005. He has been involved in funding, managing, and developing technology companies for over 25 years. His prior experience includes being SVP for Acquisitions and Strategic Ventures at SAIC, a Fortune 250 company in La Jolla, CA. He was Co-Founder, COO & CFO of Multum Information Services and President of Ceon Corporation, where he collectively raised over $75 million in Venture Capital. He also held positions at Salomon Brothers Inc., as an Associate in Venture Capital, and at Prudential-Bache where he worked as an Associate in Corporate Finance. Doug received his MBA from Columbia Business School and his Bachelor's degree in Economics/Pre-Med from DePauw University.
For the past ten years, she has been a member of a professional services firm that provides financial services to technology companies and private equity firms. Previously, she held Controller positions at Prospero Ventures, CAD Solutions and Celtrix Pharmaceuticals. Pauline holds a BS degree in Accounting from San Jose State University.
Sheeraz has co-founded, served as an executive, and invested in numerous startups over the past twenty years. Two of these ventures have gone public, and four have had successful acquisitions. In addition to his work at Rembrandt, Sheeraz serves as the Managing Partner for ZipDragon Ventures and as the CEO of Cleantech Group. Under his leadership, Cleantech Group has built i3, the innovation network that drives sustainability.
Prior to joining Rembrandt, Sheeraz served as co-founder and CEO of GetActive Software, which pioneered online fundraising and constituent engagement for nonprofits. He led GetActive's merger with Convio (CNVO); then as Convio's President built a company that went public and was acquired for $325 million. Sheeraz has worked as a strategy consultant for McKinsey & Company, an entrepreneur-in-residence (EIR) for El Dorado Ventures, and an operations executive for GMO LLC. Sheeraz launched his career as an environmental engineer with Environ International.
Sheeraz earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in environmental engineering from Brown University and Stanford University respectively. When he's not working, Sheeraz enjoys family time, skiing and riding his bike.
Gordon Rausser is the Robert Gordon Sproul distinguished professor at the University of California, Berkeley. He has served on three separate occasions as chair of his academic department and as Dean of the College of Natural Resources for six years. He has been elected a Fellow of a number of professional associations, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Statistical Association, and the Agriculture and Applied Economics Association. Due to his innovative research he has been the recipient of twenty-three research and instructional awards including national awards for best journal articles, research discovery, and publications of enduring quality. His government service includes, serving two years with the Council of Economic Advisors and two years as Chief Economist at the Agency of International Development, U.S. State Department.
Over the course of his academic career he has actively pursued a number of entrepreneurial activities. While on the faculty at Harvard University his first venture was the establishment of a futures market hedge fund. Subsequently, following his four years in Washington, D.C. he co-founded a private company, Law and Economics Consulting Group (LECG), which was taken public in 1997 and was merged with another larger organization in 1998. He has served on a number of Boards of Directors and also has taken another company, U.S. Diagnostics, public. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of three separate private companies, including OnPoint Analytics which he founded, and has served on the Boards of Directors of three publicly traded companies. He is an active investor in Sun Basket, Metricstream, and Smule.
David is an entrepreneur and investor with a passion for harnessing the power of digital technology to change the physical world. Having spent more than 10 years in senior leadership roles spanning early and late stage startups and Fortune 500 companies, David brings unique perspectives to developing and commercializing innovative products in emerging digital ecosystems.
Most recently, David led the formation of Xenio, an Internet-of-Things company building the world’s most accurate indoor positioning system. Prior to Xenio, David led global strategy and marketing at Bridgelux, where he spearheaded the company’s IoT business as well as numerous major strategic partnerships across the US, China, India, and Japan, ultimately helping guide the company to a $100M revenue run rate and a successful acquisition. Prior to Bridgelux David worked in various senior strategy and business development roles at Seagate Technology, where he helped bring to market several first of their kind products in the digital home and cloud storage spaces.
David holds a BA in Economics and International Studies from Northwestern University. In his free time he can be found exploring San Francisco with his wife Kate and dog Teddy, or braving the chilly waters of Northern California on one of his many surfboards.
