Charles has extensive investment experience with early-stage investments, venture capital partnerships, and post-venture capital public equities. He has realized multiple exits to public companies of early-stage investments including Arkis Biosciences, Integrity Orthopaedics, and Surgical Innovation Associates.
Prior to joining Rembrandt Venture Partners, Charles enjoyed a nearly three-decade investment career at T. Rowe Price. He started at T. Rowe Price as an equity investment analyst focused on the health care and consumer sectors. Charles later served as Director of Equity Research, North America, focused on the technology and health sectors. During his final decade at the firm, he was portfolio manager of the T. Rowe Price Distribution Management Service, an institutional investment advisory service managing venture capital stock distributions for limited partners. Charles was also responsible for oversight of the firm’s venture capital partnership investments. His early career experience was as an investment banking analyst at Piper Jaffray.
Charles received his BA in Economics from Colby College, and his MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

Gordon Rausser is the Robert Gordon Sproul distinguished professor at the University of California, Berkeley. He has served on three separate occasions as chair of his academic department and as Dean of the College of Natural Resources for six years. He has been elected a Fellow of a number of professional associations, including the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Statistical Association, and the Agriculture and Applied Economics Association. Due to his innovative research he has been the recipient of twenty-three research and instructional awards including national awards for best journal articles, research discovery, and publications of enduring quality. His government service includes, serving two years with the Council of Economic Advisors and two years as Chief Economist at the Agency of International Development, U.S. State Department.
Over the course of his academic career he has actively pursued a number of entrepreneurial activities. While on the faculty at Harvard University his first venture was the establishment of a futures market hedge fund. Subsequently, following his four years in Washington, D.C. he co-founded a private company, Law and Economics Consulting Group (LECG), which was taken public in 1997 and was merged with another larger organization in 1998. He has served on a number of Boards of Directors and also has taken another company, U.S. Diagnostics, public. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of three separate private companies, including OnPoint Analytics which he founded, and has served on the Boards of Directors of three publicly traded companies. He is an active investor in Sun Basket, Metricstream, and Smule.
